Whale of a Good Time

~Wooden Sign~

Ok…I think you know how I like to personalize and monogram…making things significant to me, my family and our home. Recently I found this adorable wooden whale at HomeGoods.  I fell in love with the stripes and the colors are so “beachy”.

I knew it would be perfect in my son’s room at our beach house. But, I wanted to tweak it a little…

St. Petersburg, Florida has always been our favorite vacation spot and now we also call it our home away from home.

I love the use of longitude and latitude in coastal decor. It’s very nautical…at least I think so…

To create my “stencil,” I printed the words from Microsoft Word and used a ball point pen to trace the letters on to the wood. This causes a slight indention, so you can go back and paint within the lines. Really easy!

I love my new wooden whale sign and it adds the perfect touch to my son’s bedroom.

Tomorrow I’ll show you more pictures from his room.

Until then…have a Whale of a Good Time!
