Thanksgiving Basket of Plenty

Basket of Plenty for the Kitchen

What says Thanksgiving better than a large basket filled with Fall beauties such as pumpkins and gourds?…It’s a Thanksgiving basket! A basket of plenty!

A little over a year ago I purchased this great basket from Arhaus. I have always loved the unique size and shape of this beautiful basket. It’s very long and wide and lies basically flat on the table. It has no real rims or edges, so it’s great for displaying and showcasing items.

Here, I’ve used it with a collection of candles…

I knew it would be perfect for a Thanksgiving arrangement. I have already created my centerpiece for my dining room table, but I really wanted something for the table in my kitchen.

Because of the size of the basket, I knew I could use larger items and create a full display.

Luckily I had some pumpkins, gourds and Indian corn left-over from my Thanksgiving centerpiece. To that, I added a big white pumpkin, a cornucopia and some apples.

I found these awesome red leaf placemats at Wal-Mart. They are perfect for Fall! The napkins match my kitchen valances. I use them year round. They coordinate nicely with my kitchen. I wanted to keep that cohesiveness while still adding a touch of Fall.

Because the placements are red, I chose not to use the orange pumpkins. I added green and red apples instead.

I love the size of the pumpkin! It’s bold! It gives such dimension to my Thanksgiving basket.

I love the look of a pumpkin on one end of the basket and a cornucopia on the other end.

I’m so pleased with the finished look! I kept my red and the look of my kitchen with simply adding some great touches of Fall. It’s an awesome basket of plenty!

Thanksgiving and baskets of plenty go hand in hand. Use your baskets to create the perfect Thanksgiving arrangement for your home this holiday season.

  1. The color of the placemats help make this bright and festive! I love that you can put a good sized pumpkin in that basket. Really lovely!

  3. Hi, Leslie! I think this is my first visit to your blog. I’m visiting from BNOTP’s Tablescape Thursday. I like the idea of placing the cornucopia in the basket to kind of lend a cohesiveness and corral everything! It’s also great because of the added layer of texture! I’m glad you showed a close-up of the way the handle is anchored to the basket with that twine. (Or is that metal that just looks like twine in the photo?) It really shows the craftsmanship of the piece. Very nice!

    • Thank you so much! I’m so glad you stopped by! That is a metal wire on the basket handle. I love this basket…one of my favorites. Have a great weekend.
