Star Light, Star Bright

Star Wall Art

Sometimes, you just never know what you’re going to find…remember when I found the burlap sacks at Tractor Supply for my burlap pillows? While I was there, I found a piece of wall art! Seriously? Tractor supply?!?! I always thought it was just grass seed and lawn mowers! I guess you learn something new everyday!

Star wall art has been around for awhile and traditionally it is a primitive/country decor item. I decided to give it a bit of a different look. Check out the finished product…

Was I crazy for it? No. But to be honest, I really couldn’t pass it up. It was only $4.99! I didn’t really care for the color or the metal “wire” circling the star. I was hoping to be able to remove that, but it was a no go! That wasn’t coming off, so I had to work with it.

I gave it a new look with Krylon’s Classic Gray spray paint. Now, it has a more subtle look. With the classic gray, it doesn’t have such a rustic, country look. The wire isn’t as noticeable.

I wanted to use it more of a decorative accessory rather than an actual piece of wall art. On top of my corner cabinet, I have arranged a collection of baskets. I placed the star behind the baskets, leaning against the wall. I love any type of collection sitting on top of cabinets, whether they be free standing or kitchen cabinets.

(Notice my $15 blue ducks from my flea market finds?!?! Love them!)

I love that you can always take something…give it a little tweak…and create a whole new look!
