I think we all have a favorite space in our homes. It’s a room of our home that when we walk by it, we smile.
It makes us happy.
Maybe it’s the colors, maybe it’s the furniture, maybe it’s the accessories.
Whatever it is that makes us happy, we love it!
Today I’m sharing one of my favorite spaces in my beach home.
It’s not really a dining room, it’s a dining space.
We have a large room off of the kitchen that houses our table and chairs and our family room.
But this area, by far, is my favorite!
I love my beach house sea fan wall decor.
The idea came from this pin on Pinterest. I pinned it a long time ago and knew that I wanted to create my version of it one day.
This is one of the easiest DIYs I’ve ever done!
Obviously, the first step is to get your hands on some sea fans. There are sources online where you can order them, but I chose to go to the local shell shop. Because I purchased so many, they gave me a bit of a discount.
My sea fans were a neutral color, with a few variations of purple in some areas. They are very pretty on their own, but I wanted to coordinate with my bench that sits at my table, so I decided to spray paint them.
I used spray adhesive and adhered them to white paper.
The frames were the basic $5 frames from Wal-Mart. I spray painted them gold in a satin finish.
I think one of the things I love about this wall is that although each frame is the same, each sea fan is the same color and they are symmetrical in placement, each sea fan has a different shape and look. I love the contrast.
I love to walk by each day and smile…
