Happy New Year!
2013
For the last several days, my family and I have relaxed and spent time together at our vacation home in Florida. The weather has been cool, but we have truly enjoyed being together. My kids have had movie marathons (which is very fitting because my oldest is a film major), we’ve worked on a 1,000 piece puzzle (which will probably have to be finished on our next visit) and we’ve eaten very well (Weight Watchers…meet your newest member)!
This trip, along with the fact that another new year is about to begin, has me thinking about time and what we do with it…
As I looked around the room today, I noticed my clock. I love this clock. It’s oversized and beautiful. It resembles a huge pocket watch.
There it was…staring at me…reminding me how each precious moment is fleeting. Like sand through an hourglass, time moves very quickly.
Then I noticed my “Beach House Rules” pillow. They are rules that should be followed while at the beach, but the message can be translated to every day of our lives…enjoy each moment.
Get some sand between your toes and pick up a shell while you walk on the beach…
Stop and look out the window. Be sure to enjoy the view…
Gather your friends or family and invite them to sit awhile and relax…
Do not always look at a clock and think about how there aren’t enough hours in the day…think of time as a gift…and enjoy that gift!
