New Year…New Mantel Decor
Is everyone else as glad as I am to have the Christmas decorations down?!?! After a couple of days, I have FINALLY gotten the Christmas decorations down and packed away! Now, I’m on to putting the house back together again.
Usually after the holidays, I try to jazz things up a bit. I like to move things around. It’s a New Year, so how about a new look!
I began with my mantel decor. My mantel in my living room is a focal point of my home. It’s basically the first thing your eyes go to as you enter the room. It’s also the hardest spot for me to decorate. For some reason, I really struggle with mantel decor.
Right before Christmas, I found these great Threshold white and gold vases at Target. They worked great with my holiday decorations, but they work even better with my living room decor.
This great plate is from Pier 1 Imports. I’ve had it for several years and have always used it on my buffet. I decided to try something new. I really like it on my mantel.
I love the clean fresh look of white pottery and the touch of gold adds such elegance.
This great little artichoke is from Kroger! It was a deal at $4.98.
I love my red berries. They were all over my house for the holidays and I loved them so much, I decided to keep a few out throughout the year. The pop of color against the white vase is great.
I’m enjoying my plate’s new home and I love the white, gold and red.
How do you feel about mantel decor? A great mantel can set the stage for a beautiful space. Great mantel decor can become the focal point of your room. My suggestion is to try different things…move things around…try it here…try it there. Eventually, you’ll look at it and say, “That looks good!” Then you’ll know you got it right!

It is all so pretty and colorful! Take care, Laura
Thank you Laura! I’m so glad you stopped by. Have a great weekend!

Your mantel looks beautiful, Leslie! I really like the white vases. Our fireplace is in our family room which is all open to the kitchen and breakfast room, so not too formal. I try to either make it fun, depending on the season, or simple and fresh. That’s the look I’m going for right now. And yes, I’m so happy to have the Christmas decor packed away! I spent several days staring at empty, blank spaces, but now I’ve got some new looks I’m happy with. I’ll share soon!
Thanks Carol! Can’t wait to see what you’ve got going! Have a great weekend!

Thank you for your sweet comment on my craft closet and pantry. My hubby sometimes thinks my organizing is a bit over-the-top, but it’s amazing some of the good habits he has picked up….lol!
Carol
You are so welcome! I think your organizational skills are priceless! Have a great week.

I think I get into trouble every time I walk through the doors of Target! Thanks so much for stopping by. I’m heading your way now. Have a great week.

Love, love, love your mantel decor! The color choice is perfect – so clean, and everything looks so fresh. Despite your “fear of mantels”, you did a wonderful job…. Mantels scare me, too, because I often tend to overcrowd mine…. it’s always too much stuff, and looks more like clutter than a focal point. I’ll have to use yours as a guide!
