~Chinoiserie Inspired Curtains~
I have to say that I am totally in love with my new office curtains!
Let me back up…
A few weeks back, I decided to say goodbye to my guest room and HELLO to my new home office/craft room. I then began going back and forth in regards to colors! I truly had no idea what I wanted to do!
So I decided to walk into the fabric store and just see what hit me. I decided to keep an open mind…decided not to “look for a particular color, pattern or design.” I decided to let it just jump out at me. And it did!
I walked into Hancock Fabric and fell in love with this linen Chinoiserie style fabric. It has two beautiful shades of gray, yellow, green and a gorgeous shade of mauve. It’s totally not what I thought I’d choose! But I fell for it fast!
Once I had my fabric, I was then able to choose my paint color for my stenciled wall. I used London Coach by Valspar. It’s perfect with the fabric!
The stenciled wall and the curtains are the ONLY thing I have done in the room, but I just had to show you a sneak peek!
I love the pairing of the geometric design on the wall and the floral/bird design of the fabric.
Did you notice the bamboo shade?
It’s totally fake! It’s a faux DIY bamboo shade…and it cost a total of $3.00 to make! I’ll share more pictures and the tutorial for the shade this week. I’ll also share a tutorial on how to make the curtains too.
Now I can’t wait to start working on the furnishings!

Beautiful! I can’t believe you stenciled that whole wall! It looks fabulous:) Love the curtains and the lovely view out your office window. That would inspire me:)
Thanks Anne! That wall was a lot of work and a bit of a pain…but I do love it!
Oh you are going to love working in your new office! Well done – the stenciled wall, curtain fabric, and ‘bamboo’ shade look great together!
Thanks Jill! I think I am going to love it, but I still have a bit to do! I am search of the perfect desk right now. Hoping to find a great score at a thrift shop. Have a great week.

Wow, that is gorgeous fabric, Leslie! I enjoy that method of “blind inspiration” when I go into a fabric store or one of my fave craft or home decor stores, and just let the inspiration hit me — sometimes it does and other times it doesn’t! Can’t wait to see your finished space.
Thanks Carol! I can’t wait till it’s done!
Can’t wait to see it progress Leslie!! I’m completely smitten with your room so far! Although – maybe I could bring a sleeping bag and visit you and make it a office/guest room combo! haha!! Love that fabric – such a great choice!
