~Have a Seat~
Sometimes accidents happen. In a house of six, they happen often. They especially happen when your oldest son decides to stand on the leg rails of your kitchen stools instead of sitting on the stool. When your oldest son decides to do that, the leg rail breaks. Hence the need for new stools (or at least a good excuse to get new ones!)
~Enter the New Barstools~
I’ve fawned over the new trend in industrial stools for a long time and when the need arose, I jumped on the chance to get some. These stools are the Decker Barstools from Pottery Barn.
I think the thing I love most about these barstools is the fact that while they have the steel legs, they also have a rustic pine seat which works well the rest of my kitchen.
The mix of industrial with some of my antiques makes for a great eclectic look. One of my favorite pieces is my antique phone.
My cabinets are maple and I love the detail that the builder included. Great moulding, glass cabinet doors and a great backsplash.
I would love to have white cabinets, but the maple just really works. Plus, I’m not at the point that I want to get into painting all that cabinetry. Too much work…
At the end of my island, I have a little nook for my cookbooks. (You can tell I use them often…pardon the dust!)
You knew there’d be red…
My gorgeous tea-pot is one of my favorite finds! It was one of those Pier 1 treasures.
The tall windows are beautiful, but in the evening the sun shines bright! It makes for an interesting dinnertime…everyone tries to dodge the sun.
I’m loving my new barstools, but my better half complains because they’re backless…Sometimes beauty is pain…
