~I Love a Good Hack~
That almost sounds wrong…What I mean is…I love transforming or making over something. I love to make it my own, putting my idea into the design. Today’s makeover is super simple but makes a big impact!
IKEA Bookcase Makeover
First of all, you know I love IKEA! When I discovered the elegant look of the Vittsjo Bookcase, I was sold. At $70, what a deal! The glass shelves are awesome and the unit itself is great. I just didn’t want the look of the black metal frame of the bookcase.
I wanted to lighten it up but give it some personality. If you remember my Sea Fan Wall, you know I used gold frames in that project. That’s why I chose to make the bookcase gold. It plays off the opposite wall. I’ve also used some touches of gold in my mix of accessories for the room.
The spray paint I used for my bookcase was Rustoleum Universal Metallic Paint in Pure Gold. I love the color! It has a satin finish which gives it a soft look.
I’ve filled its shelves with mementos and memories.
I’m a firm believer in a little paint goes a long way!
Are you a spray paint believer? What’s the most unusual or unexpected thing you’ve spray painted lately?
