…Another Man’s Treasure…
Yesterday, I was able to do one of my favorite activities on earth…I got to scour the local flea market! I love to walk the rows and rows of junk and treasure! There is always some junk…but there’s always some treasure…at least treasure to me.
I think I scored! I found some great home decor items and a seasonal item too.
My first find was this pair of blue wooden ducks. I sort of have a thing for ducks, geese and swans. You can tell that by looking at my DIY wooden swan sign that I made here.
I love their worn, rustic look! There’s a story there…
My husband asked if I was going to keep them that way. YES! They have such character. No way would I change that! I love the red eyes!
For $1.00, I purchased this set of 4 leaf napkin rings. They are an antique bronze and so cute! Great detail and an awesome price. I can use these through Thanksgiving. One problem…we are a family of 6, so I have six chairs at my table. I have decided to find two or three coordinating napkin rings that I can mix in with these. I can do three and three. I’ll make it work.
My favorite purchase of the day is this gorgeous print. For $20, this beauty was mine. Originally, I walked away from this, but I knew I had to go back! I’m so glad I did, because I love it!
I love the bright, vibrant colors and the tranquility of the picture. It seems to speak to me. It makes me smile just to look at it.
Have you been to a flea market lately? How much of another man’s junk became your treasure?

Of course you bought that print…..it has a bird in it!! I see a theme here, Leslie.;-) For your napkin rings – I would use the 4 and put 2 different ones at the host and hostess’ place (that’s my way of sneaking in different pieces without anyone really noticing).
Thanks Heather! I think you’re right…I obviously love anything with birds! LOL! Thanks for the tip on the napkin rings.
