Sun, Surf, Sand and a Pumpkin!
This past week has been Fall break for my kids, so we hightailed it down to Florida. We were welcomed by sun, surf and sand…and my lovely dining room…
Over the summer, I worked on the dining area of our vacation home. I wanted to make it light and airy, but I love color, so I added some aqua in the mix.
This is what I came up with…
The first item that I purchased was the bench. I found it at HomeGoods and had to have it! I decorated the space around this bench.
I love my huge clam shell that I filled with potpourri from Ikea…perfect colors. The matching vases are from HomeGoods as well as the “sticks.” I’m not even sure what they’re called, but they’re very beachy! They’re held steady in the vases with sand.
I was so happy to see my beautiful dining room, but I decided we needed a little pumpkin too! It is fall after all!
I found a white pumpkin at Home Depot, but it was too big for my clam shell. I switched to this basket that I found at a local flea market for $1.00. Love it!
I added my potpourri and some shells…since it is the beach…
The shells I used were white clam shells. I wanted to keep with the white and aqua theme so I chose not to use my colored shells.
The look is still in keeping with the beach theme of my home, but the pumpkin just adds a touch of the season. The pumpkin is a perfect fit for the basket, both in size and appearance. What a fun, but subtle Fall look!
Since we are only here for a week, I couldn’t go overboard with the holiday decorating, but I thought it would be fun to see how I could take my beach decor and add some Fall flair!
Add a pumpkin and you have instant Fall decor at the beach!
Happy Beachy Fall to you all!

Love how it turned out. I don’t live at the beach or have a beach home, but I wanted to bring a beach/cottage feel to my home. If you want to check out what I did to my table here is the link. Have a great weekend.

I never would have thought to make a fall themed basket for the beach. All my beach decorations are for summer. Of course, I still display them all year. The white pumpkin adds a festive fall touch.
The white pumpkins are an easy add in. Thanks so much for stopping by!

Thank you so much Ruth! I really appreciate the compliments.
Your beach decor is adorable. I live in Denver so being land-locked does not lend itself to coastal decor!
Thank you for the compliment!

This is really beautiful. I love the beach and we were just on the Cape 2 weekends ago. We collected shells and this gives me so many ideas – but I don’t think they will look as pretty in the country setting – HA.
