~Here Comes Peter Cottontail~
Over the weekend, we celebrated a very special little girl’s first birthday. Her party theme was bunnies and burlap. I shared how I made some Tissue Paper Pom-Poms and added some fun Burlap Cord Covers to hang them. I also created a burlap runner with some bunnies for the party table.
But before I handed it over, I wanted to share how it would be perfect for Easter. Check out my Easter Bunny Burlap Runner…
First, I created my runner. You can find that tutorial here.
Next came the bunny. My friend gave me an example of the bunny shape that she was using for the birthday party. I enlarged it and created a stencil.
You know how I’m a “use what you’ve got” kind-of girl…I used basic printer paper for the stencil. After a few times of using the stencil, the edges of the paper started to curl. I put some tape around the edges and kept going.
Using white craft paint and a foam pouncer, I stenciled the bunnies along the edge of the runner. I stenciled the inside edges of the stencil, removed the stencil and then filled in the rest of the bunny.
It’s so cute with the bunnies all in a row…
It’s an easy project and it’s great because it not only worked for a birthday party…it works for Easter too.
