$2.00 DIY Owl Bookends
You heard right! I created a great pair of $2.00 DIY owl bookends.
I found these great little owl figures at the Dollar Tree. Their original state was not ideal, but I had a plan.
Their intended use was for an owl themed baby shower that I hosted recently. I used some craft paint to cover the black and gold that was originally on the owls, so that they would coordinate with the colors of the shower.
After the shower was over, I thought it would be a great idea to transform them once again so that I could use them in my home decor. I began by removing all the glitter that was covering them. Next, I applied some basic glossy white spray paint. I love the look of an all over white figure, especially in an animal design.
I love them! Simple and adorable! Who knew that those “not so attractive” owls could be so cute! They are great DIY owl bookends.
I love the white bookends with the colors of the books. BTW, I got the books at Restore for $.25 each! They were brand new, too. I love the variety of colors.
$3.00 for the books
$2.00 for the owls
$.97 for the spray paint
What a deal! What a great, easy DIY!
