~Silver and Gold~
As you know, I’m working on my home office and I found this great fabric for my curtains. I love the look of metals in home decor and I have really been going back and forth on whether to do silver or gold in my office. With the curtain fabric, I could really do either…and I like both…so I decided to do both!
I found this great wooden divided tray at a flea market over spring break. It was only $2.00…so why not. I decided to create a metallic painted desk tray.
I chose Americana Gloss Enamels Metallic paint in Glorious Gold and Shimmering Silver. At first I thought about doing a layered effect, like I did on the legs of this footstool. I decided against that, preferring to do something a little different.
I decided to do the gold on the inside and the silver on the outside.
I love it! I get the best of both metallics and I love the depth that the two colors give the tray.
The different sizes of the divided compartments are great. I filled it with note paper, pens, markers, scissors and some fun things too.
It’s a great little desk organizer. It has style and function!
I found the great initial stamps at Michael’s and the vintage Pins tin is from England. I found it at a great flea market there.
A desk should be functional and beautiful. My little $2.00 desk tray does the trick!
