DIY Embellished Bedskirt

~Add a Little Detail~

Yesterday I showed you my DIY fabric covered headboard that I made for my master bedroom at my beach house. Today I want to show you how I created a DIY embellished bedskirt for about $30!

This is such any easy DIY and a great way to create a custom look for your bedroom! I purchased this Threshold 15″ drop tailored bedskirt from Target. It’s a basic white bedskirt. Since my duvet cover is solid white with just a touch of red, I really wanted the bedskirt to stand out.

I had just enough scraps of fabric left over from my headboard project to create a band of red on the bottom of the bedskirt. I cut 3″ wide strips of fabric and hemmed all sides. I did have to piece two strips together for each side of the bed. I ended up with three finished bands of fabric.

Next, I simply sewed the bands of fabric onto the bottom of the bedskirt.

I really love how it turned out! I think it really adds a great deal of interest to the bed.

This was a great afternoon project that really gives some oomph to the master bedroom!

I hope I did not get banished to the trash mail cause I did post a URL, so I could show you the fabric I wanted for months and months. While waiting to save the money it went bye bye on me. So now I am loving that little pillow print you have….. yes I want to borrow it….. oh alright, steal it, copy it for a long narrow pillow for my bed.
