~An Old Box Gets a New Look~
Recently, I had the pleasure of receiving some of DecoArt’s new Americana Chalky Finish Paint in a variety of colors and of course, I got to work transforming whatever I could get my hands on!
One of my first projects was this decorative box. I decided to use Americana Chalky Finish Paint in “Vintage” on the outside of the box and “Primitive” on the inside. The Vintage is a gorgeous soft blue while Primitive is a wonderful creme.
After removing some of the hardware, I brushed the paint on to the box. The great thing about using the Chalky Finish Paint is that your surface requires no priming or sanding. You simply paint and go!
Another point to remember about the Chalky Finish Paint is that a little goes a long way. You just don’t seem to need to use as much paint as you would with other paints.
After the paint was dried, I used Americana Creme Wax to seal and protect the paint. I used their wax brush to apply the wax in a circular motion. Once the wax was applied, I buffed the finish with a white cloth.
This little decorative box looks amazing in its new finish.
You can also check out this little side table that I painted with the Chalky Finish Paint.
Have you tried the Americana Chalky Finish Paint from DecoArt? If you haven’t, you need to check it out. You can find it online at Home Depot. They can ship it straight to your door or you can order it and pick it up at your local Home Depot store.
See what you have lying around that you can transform!
*While I did receive product from DecoArt, all opinions are 100% mine.
