Zebras Aren’t the Only Ones with Stripes
It’s Day 4 of the 31 Day Series of making your house a beautiful home and today I’m showing you one of the first steps in my office makeover…my bookcase.
I love stripes, so I decided to add a little to my space. What do you think?
We’ve had this basic laminate bookcase for years. It’s been sitting in this space, holding junk for a while. It’s just what I need for my office space to hold my books and supplies.
I wanted to keep it the wood color because I felt like it looks good with the color of the desk. I started the stripe process by using Frog Tape to create the areas to paint. Frog Tape is a gift! It protects surfaces and creates PERFECT lines!
Luckily I had some left over paint from some previous jobs. It’s an off-white, so it will be very neutral and basic. Using a neutral color will enable me to add color in accessories.
I’ve filled it with some things, but it’s not exactly right yet. I wanted to give you a little peek of step 1!
What do you think? Do you like the stripes? Should I have done the back in a solid color or painted the whole bookcase? Let me know what you think. I like the stripes, but I’m not sure I’m 100% sold on them. I’m going to keep going with the makeover and see how it comes together.
