Back to Reality & Time to Party

~Getting Back in the Swing of Things~

Last week was Fall Break for us…the kids had a week off of school, so we headed south for a little fun in the sun. The weather was beautiful…but hot! In spite of the heat, we had a relaxing week.

In fact, I relaxed so much that I did not do a 10 Minute Touch-up on Saturday or Sunday…sorry…the break got the best of me! But now it’s Monday and it’s time to get back on track.

Whenever you return from any time away, there is always so much to do; unpacking, laundry and mail to sort. Returning to a pile of mail is always one of my least favorite tasks. I always end up with a stack that sits on the countertop for at least a week. Why do I procrastinate when it comes to tossing out the junk mail and organizing the important stuff?

Today’s 10 minute touch-up…take a few moments to sort through that mail that you have sitting on the counter or in a basket. If you don’t have mail waiting for your attention, then clean out a junk drawer.

Just taking a few moments to get rid of the clutter, even in a small area can make a huge difference!

This week’s features were chosen by my brand new co-host, Lesley from Chaotically Creative! She is actually just getting back from her Fall Break too, where she was actually in my neck of the woods. It seems like she had a good time in the Bluegrass State! Let’s take a peek at her favorite links from last week’s party…

My family is just returning from Fall Break! Do you guys have fall break in your school system like we do?
My family and I had a great time. I actually had to go to an Early Childhood Conference for 3 days and then we did a little traveling. We ended up going to Kentucky and stopped by Keeneland and the Woodford Reserve Bourbon distillery. Yes, we took the kids to the race tracks and a bourbon distillery for fall break. (who’s shaking their heads?)
Surprisingly, both were very interesting and educational. We had a lot of fun learning about the culture of both the races and the bourbon and seeing the excitement and the passion people have for both.
Before we left for Fall Break we had our first ever family photos taken! Seriously, stop shaking your head! We’ve had plenty of non-professional family photos done but this is our first professional one. Take a look!
