Elcie’s Baby Shower
I’m so excited to share pictures of a baby shower that I hosted yesterday, for a very special little girl! The mommy-to-be is a young woman who I’ve known for too many years to count. In fact, I taught her in Sunday school and she babysit my children. Now she’s getting ready to welcome a beautiful bouncing baby girl into the world and her name is going to be Elcie!
I chose to use the colors of her nursery for the shower decorations. The nursery bedding is the Brooklyn Nursery Bedding from Pottery Barn Kids. The colors are beautiful! They are gorgeous shades of purple, aqua and a soft green.
The mom-to-be loves owls. She added a few owl touches to the nursery, so I added a few to the shower! I found a great owl printable that I framed and placed in the center of the food table. I also created place cards from card stock to label the various foods and I added owl stickers to each one. Finally, I found these little white ceramic owls at the Dollar Tree. They were originally accented with gold and black, which I painted over with some purple and turquoise craft paint.
I wanted the shower decorations and table to be full, bright and fun!
My first project was creating the baby’s name using cardboard letters and tissue flowers. I cut my letters out of basic cardboard and used hot glue to attach the flowers. I have a great tutorial for making these great tissue paper flowers.
I made lots of them and hung them from the mantel as well as from the ceiling above the food table.
I tried to hide my dining room chandelier with as many of them as I could!
On the coffee table, I placed a copy of “Little Owl’s Night” along with green candles and purple tulle.
Each guest was asked to sign the inside of the book as a gift to mother and baby.
For the food, we went with nothing but “sweet treats!” Lots of chocolate and other goodies!
One of the favorites was the Mini Fruit Pizzas. Each guest created their own using sugar cookies, cream cheese frosting and their choice of strawberries, blueberries and kiwi.
Some of the other delectable goodies included Chocolate Drizzled Creme Puffs, three types of popcorn, Danish Wedding Cookies and Purple Punch.
A friend of mine made these adorable mini cupcakes. The flower cupcake liners are so cute and her icing is the perfect shade of lavender.
These were a few of my favorite treats. The Chocolate Covered Marshmallows were so pretty with the candy pearl detail. The lovely little Candy Coated covered Pretzels took FOREVER to finish! I actually had to “hand paint” the different colored candy detail. It was one of those “why did I start this moments?!?!” But in the end I was glad I did them for her!
I loved the bottles of punch with the cute aqua and white striped straws!
Everything was festive and lovely!
We had a wonderful time and mom-to-be & baby received lots of love, well wishes and loot!
We can’t wait to see the new bundle and welcome her into the world!
And her name is….

Thank you Angela! You are too kind! Have a great week.
all of these images are beautiful but i really love the cupcake tower. They always look great at a baby shower, especially when the frosting matches the theme of the baby shower.

Thank Miki! Yes, I love cupcake towers too! Much easier than dealing with cutting a cake, etc.
especially if you have a gender reveal with the blue or pink filling. It makes the gender reveal so much more personal and exciting when we all bite in at the same time!
I’ll be sure to pin some of these images on my pinterest. Take care and thanks again for sharing!
