It’s Beginning to Look A Lot Like Christmas…
In my house, I traditionally begin decorating for Christmas during the week of Thanksgiving. I like to enjoy the holiday season for as long as possible!
This year I have gotten a little excited because of some of the great Christmas decor that I have found this season.
It began with one of my favorite pieces, my corner cabinet…I created a Christmas corner cabinet!
When it comes to my corner cabinet, I feel that the possibilities are endless. Each shelf is decorated differently but they coordinate and are very cohesive. The white dishes in the background make the bits of red really pop!
For the last couple of days I have worked on wrapping my metal star with twine. If you remember, I spray painted the star with Krylon’s Classic Gray but honestly, I was never satisfied with the result. I love the new look achieved with a hot glue gun and twine!
The red and black check ribbon adds the perfect touch to the star! It’s not typical Christmas ribbon, but yet it is a classic look that works well with the antique reproduction cabinet.
I’m in love with the cable knit look of these resin ornaments. They are absolutely adorable and they look just as good off a tree, as on one!
I found the ornaments and the sled at HomeGoods.
On the bottom shelf I chose to use my bell jar with more of the black and red ribbon. I filled my green stoneware bowl with more of the ornaments and showcased them under glass.
Milk glass in Christmas decor is beautiful! Here, I sat a Christmas berry ball on top of my milk glass cake stand. I love the clean, simple look.
The finishing touch was adding basic garland and red berries.
The mix of the milk glass cake stand, wooden sled and glass bell jar adds interest to the arrangement. The twine wrapped star coordinates nicely with the sled and the primitive look of the cabinet. The variety of elements add character and interest.
Since childhood, Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. I choose to use the traditional red in my Christmas decor…which works out wonderfully since red is my favorite color! I love classic Christmas decor that reminds me of Christmas past and I love this Christmas corner cabinet!
